With the right care and attention, you can extend the life of your pillows while continuing to enjoy that wonderful five-star comfort in the comfort of your own home.
Below, we’ll guide you step by step through how to care for your pillows properly. We’ll start with down and feather pillows.
Daily maintenance
Shake the pillow well every morning when making the bed to loosen the filling and restore its volume.
Airing & brushing
Air the pillow for 1 to 2 hours near an open window or on the balcony, but avoid strong sunlight, rain and fog. Optionally brush off dust or lint with a soft brush.
Washing
Generally clean the pillow every three years. Machine wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C using a delicate cycle and a gentle detergent.
Drying & resorting volume
Always use a tumble dryer and add dryer balls (or tennis balls) to the drum. This helps break up clumps and ensures the down regains its natural volume, softness, and fluffiness.
Run a second drying cycle: Remaining moisture can damage down. Between cycles, remove the pillow, gently shake it out, and plump the filling to ensure it is evenly distributed before drying it again for a short period.

Polyester pillows can be washed more frequently. Machine wash at a maximum temperature of 60°C using a delicate cycle and a mild detergent.
Drying & restoring volume
Dry the pillow in the tumble dryer using dryer balls (or tennis balls) to restore its natural loft and fluffiness.
Run a second drying cycle: Ensure all remaining moisture is completely removed. Between cycles, remove the pillow, gently shake it out, and plump the filling before drying it again for a short period.
If the dryer switches off prematurely, place a damp towel in the drum to keep the sensor running until fully dry.
