Scented candle Doany Ilafy Max 24 Baobab

The Ilafy scented candle is covered with raffia in shades of pink, handwoven by women in Madagascar. A woven and embroidered motif of an Aboriginal symbol for sacred places is repeated around the candle, creating a graphic and modern effect. It is named after the sacred hill of the first king of Madagascar.

The sunny scent of orchid, fleur de sel, and ylang-ylang honors the summer that is just around the corner.

Raffia is an indigenous plant species harvested annually. The leaves are dried and then cut into long strips so they can be dyed and subsequently crocheted. Our women's cooperative in Madagascar has been producing the raffia for our Raphia candles for eight years, driven by our creative direction. The motifs are first drawn and then crafted by the crocheters in Madagascar. Thanks to this annual project, women can earn a decent income and send their children to school.
